TSI Assessment

Prior to attending orientation (OAR), New to College Students must demonstrate readiness for collegiate level work. Additionally, Transfer and Former Students will have their official transcripts reviewed to determine if TSI requirements are met.

The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a program mandated by the state of Texas for all Texas public colleges and universities. It is designed to help Richland College determine if you are ready for college-level work in the general areas of reading, writing, and math.

Students are also required to demonstrate or acquire computer skills at the beginning of their college work. To discover your options, exemptions, and waivers, click here for our Computer Literacy Requirement web page.
