Counseling Confidentiality Statement
Staff members with the title of Personal Counselor have the ability to maintain legally protected confidentiality and will not reveal confidential information shared with them without express permission of the individual, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Personal counselors will maintain confidentiality unless:
- Permission to disclose is given by the person who disclosed the information;
- There is an imminent threat of harm to the individual or to others;
- The information disclosed involves suspected abuse of a minor under the age of 18 or abuse of elderly individuals or disabled persons;
or - If ordered by law or court order.
