Is Online Learning for You?

Taking classes online is a great way to earn a degree or professional certificate, but not everyone is suited to online learning. View the video to see if you are a good fit for online learning.

Apply, Advise, Register

*Step 1: Apply
To take classes for college credit, you must complete the application for admissions.

Step 2: Submit
Submit your transcripts. Students taking only online classes do not need to submit meningitis documentation but must fill out the 100% Distance Education Affidavit.

Step 3: Get Aid
Students are encouraged to explore financial aid opportunities and apply for aid as soon as possible at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Step 4: Assessment
Prior to attending online orientation, New to College Students must demonstrate readiness for collegiate level work

Step 5: Orientation
Orientation is required for all new to college students only. Please contact the online advising department (RLC-OnlineAdvising@dcccd.edu) to complete your new to college online orientation.

Step 6: Advise/Register
Speak with an Online Academic Advisor (RLC-OnlineAdvising@dcccd.edu).

Step 7: Payment
Payment for your classes can be made through the Business Services office.

*Students from a state other than Texas might not be eligible to attend Richland College. Please check on the Distance Education State Authorization site to see if your state is on the State Authorized Approved list.
