{"id":11233,"date":"2015-07-28T12:39:59","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T17:39:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/randyjensenonline.com\/rlcalt\/?page_id=11233"},"modified":"2017-09-26T12:42:32","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T17:42:32","slug":"full-time-employees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/randyjensenonline.com\/rlcalt\/thunderwater\/full-time-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"Full-time Employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Employee expectations are described in detail in <a href=\"http:\/\/randyjensenonline.com\/rlcalt\/employees\/operational-memoranda\/#profdev\">OPERATIONAL MEMORANDUM DEA-802 (Professional Development) and OPERATIONAL MEMORANDUM DEA-804 (Core Expectations)<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#core\">Core Expectations<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#development\">Individual Professional Development<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#activities\">Professional Development Activities<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Full-time-Professional-Development-Checklist-2017-2018.pdf\">Professional Development Checklist for Full-time Employees<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h7 id=\"core\">Core Expectations<\/h7>\n<p>All full-time employees will complete or attend the following Core Expectations each academic year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FERPA Training XREG-2000-80000 (online class)<\/li>\n<li>Sexual Harassment Awareness Training XREG-2000-80001 (online class)<\/li>\n<li>Keeping Safe in a Campus Emergency XSAF-1001-80000 (online class)<\/li>\n<li>College Convocation (Fall Semester)<\/li>\n<li>Richland College Graduation Ceremony (Administrators and Faculty only)<\/li>\n<li>Fall and Spring Return Week Meetings and Activities (Instructional Administrators and Faculty only)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: Attendance at Convocation, Graduation and Return Week Meetings is no longer documented in the Staff Enrichment Report in eConnect.<\/p>\n<p><h7 id=\"development\">Individual Professional Development<\/h7>\n<p>In addition to the Core Expectations, all full-time employees will complete at least <strong>12 hours<\/strong> of Individual Professional Development during each academic year with at least one activity in each of the following three learning categories:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tr>\n<th colspan=\"2\">Professional Development activities fall into the following three categories:<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<p><!--\n\n<tr>\n\n\n<td width=\"80%\">Instructional - Faculty<\/strong> - Knowledge, skills, and abilities for providing the highest quality instruction to our students - Includes topics such as teaching and learning theory, teaching techniques and strategies, classroom management, etc.<\/td>\n\n\n\n\n<td><strong>(Section numbers 81xxx)<\/strong><\/td>\n\n\n<\/tr>\n\n\n\n\n<tr>\n\n\n<td>Customer Service - PSS - Knowledge, skills, and abilities for providing exceptional service to our internal and external customers - Includes topics such as customer service best practices, effective communication, phone and email etiquette, assessing customer satisfaction, etc.<\/td>\n\n\n\n\n<td><strong>(Section numbers 82xxx)<\/strong><\/td>\n\n<\/tr>\n\n\n\n\n<tr>\n\n\n<td>Leadership\/Supervisory - Administrators &amp; Supervisors - Knowledge, skills and abilities for providing highly effective leadership and supervision in higher education - Includes participation in off-campus leadership programs.<\/td>\n\n\n\n\n<td><strong>(Section numbers 83xxx)<\/strong><\/td>\n\n\n<\/tr>\n\n--><\/p>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>1. Professional<\/strong> &#8211; Essential knowledge, skills, and abilities for all higher education professionals &#8211; Includes topics such as institutional mission, vision, and values; institutional governance and organization; institutional policies and processes; program assessment training; conflict resolution; time management; communication skills; job-specific training; etc. The Professional cetegory also includes all group-specific learning objectives for faculty, staff, and administrators.<\/td>\n<td><strong>(Section numbers 84xxx)<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>2. Technological<\/strong> &#8211; Topics related to using digital technologies as tools for effective communication and information management &#8211; Includes all software training.<\/td>\n<td><strong>(Section numbers 85xxx)<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>3.
